Work

Whirlpool Corp. at PCBC 2017

I get really excited for tradeshow season when I get to use all my (capital D) Design powers: interactive design, video, print, user experience, and interior design.

We helped them out in 2016 with a booth design, but this year it was different. The Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC) in San Diego was the first time we were launching 8 products at once. We were also working with an impressive, but oddly-sized floor plan: 90’ x 10’.

After exploring several options to make it work while showcasing four of their five mainline brands, we ended up with a linear experience that allowed a visitor to experience all that the Corp offered from an innovation stage to their top-of-the-line kitchen appliance line.

It was all very carefully planned out. The products were the centerpiece, so we designed kitchens around them. We created an innovation stage and invited their brand designers to come in to talk with people. The first day of the show was a huge success.

A lot of interaction and a lot of brand good will. It was an excellent opportunity for the sales team to interact with eager customers.

In the end, the client was very happy for the turnout and the design of the booth. Working with IGE out of Denver, we were even able to re-purpose and maximize install savings by reusing some pieces from other shows. Together we made sure to design a seamless experience.
